1/08/2017 17:08 HRS

Creative Apprenticeship

Wales Millennium Centre offers a creative apprenticeship programme for individuals looking at gaining on-the-job experience whilst studying for a national qualification.

Welsh Creative Apprentice

Welsh National Opera and Wales Millennium Centre require two apprentices each year to train and develop skills in technical theatre production, such as sound, lighting and stage management.

Wales Millennium Centre

In the 13 years we have been established, Wales Millennium Centre – the national arts Centre for Wales – has developed an outstanding reputation for delivering artistic excellence and amazing entertainment, showcasing the very best of Wales to the world and bringing the very best of the world to Wales.

Welsh National Opera

Welsh National Opera transforms lives through the power of opera across Wales and England. We are passionate about opera and want to share this passion with as many people as possible. We do this with award-winning performances of fully-staged operas which combine a sense of adventure with the highest possible quality. We keep our performances accessible through affordable ticket prices. Beyond the theatre we connect with people through our community and education work and digital projects.

The Scheme

Our one year scheme is run in conjunction with Cardiff and Vale College and the qualification achieved on completion of the course is a Level 3 Certification in Technical Theatre: Sound, Light and Stage. As well as the apprentice qualification, the apprentices will use the ABTT Bronze award as a benchmark, covering as many units as possible during their apprenticeship.  Industry professionals will be used to deliver courses such as rigging and other courses can be arranged according to need.
