POSTPONEMENT OF ABTT 2016 AGM & EGM: TARA ARTS VISIT

IMPORTANT NOTICE

POSTPONEMENT OF AGM & EGM

The AGM and EGM previously called for Friday, 2 September 2016 has been postponed.

There will still be a Members Visit to:

Tara Arts commencing with arrival at 12:00 Midday

There will be a members’ visit on Friday, 2 September 2016 to Tara Arts commencing at midday with tea and coffee on arrival. However the Annual General Meeting of the Association of British Theatre Technicians will not take place as previously notified but will be postponed.  This is at the request of the auditors, MHA MacIntyre Hudson, so that they may attend the next meeting of the ABTT Council of Management, which will be on 7th September 2016, prior to the presentation of the Annual Report to the Members.  This has arisen because the auditors were unable to attend the Council meeting in May or July and wish to discharge their obligation to consult with those responsible for the governance of the ABTT but who are not involved in the day to day management.  The auditors are clear that they are entirely satisfied with the audit and that this request is in order to be duly diligent about the procedure they are required to pursue. The EGM will also be postponed to the new date of the AGM when confirmed.

Tara Arts

The new Tara Theatre is designed to be the country’s first dedicated small-scale multicultural theatre, housing a 100-seat auditorium and a separate rehearsal/development Studio, along with an outdoor patio space. Architecturally, it is a fusion of Edwardian brick and Indian wood, including doors and architraves from India, all held together within a 21st century steel cube. The architectural multiculturalism of the building is intended to be echoed in the on-going artistic programme.

Agenda:

12:00 – 13:00:             Arrival & refreshments.

13:00 – 15:00:             Presentation of the new Tara Theatre.
