Job Role:

We have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join the busy professional services team in our west London office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously; this involves close liaison with clients and various departments within ETC. A Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre or equivalent experience in increasingly responsible positions is required, along with experience working with layouts and large systems in relation to technical theatre and/or themed entertainment.


  • Manages projects from point of purchase through to energization.
  • Acts as the contact point and maintains good communication with customers.
  • Maintains a general knowledge of all ETC products.
  • Interfaces with Regional Sales Managers, Field Project Coordinators and Systems Estimator in order to develop and maintain the quotations system.
  • Manages SAP side of project (data entry, sales order changes) and ensures we are meeting customer’s deadlines.
  • Able to interpret contract drawings and project management risers.
  • Participates in the creation of the submittal package by planning the layout of the system and conveying the customer’s intent.
  • Generates: project documentation, drawings and bills of materials with AE and Drafting prior to release to Manufacturing.
  • Reviews drawings prior to submitting to customer.
  • Completes drawing changes as directed by project management, field service, etc.
  • Ensures that drawing files are filed off in the proper folders
  • Works with Application Engineers and Drafting in US and Europe and RSMs and FPCs throughout Europe to ensure successful completion of project.
  • Liaison with: customers, Regional Sales Managers and internal departments such as Technical Services, Logistics, and Manufacturing.
  • Updates customer as necessary when changes to delivery dates.
  • Coordinates with Logistics to get goods delivered.
  • Coordinates with Technical Services for system commissioning when necessary.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.
  • Completes special projects and requests in a timely and positive fashion.
  • Requests purchase of ‘buy out’ items and custom manufactured items for projects.
  • General office support.
  • Attends specified trade shows. Processes and manages Projects specific returns.

Skills and Qualifications required

  • Degree in Technical Theatre or equivalent business experience in increasingly responsible positions.
  • 3-5 years’ minimum experience in technical theatre, and/or events of themed entertainment.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with layouts and large systems.
  • 1-3 years’ people and/or project management experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Able and willing to travel.
  • Computer skills in Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, AutoCAD (SAP helpful).
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity is helpful.
  • Familiarity with European electrical codes and processes for installation.
  • Understanding of contractual and commercial processes and associated documentation.
  • Knowledge of company policies.
  • Good AutoCAD skills.
  • Good working knowledge of entertainment lighting products, technologies and systems.
  • Good spoken and written English language skills.  Additional language skills are preferred.
  • Ability to be flexible.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of ETC products.
