Job Title: Systems Estimator

Job Role: ETC is looking for a Systems Estimator to join our busy professional services team in our west London office. The role will involve working closely with customers to prepare preparing system designs for projects. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in increasingly responsible positions, experience in theatrical or television lighting, the ability to work quickly and accurately, and excellent customer service skills.


  • Generates pricing and Bills of Materials per customer requests according to deadlines
  • Designs light systems based on customer information
  • Interprets plans and specifications
  • Agrees project discount structure with Regional Sales Managers
  • Calculates pricing based on equipment list
  • Prepares quotation documents
  • Provides sales support
  • Answers questions of Regional Sales Managers
  • Explains sales policies to systems customer
  • Determines when to articulate concerns about given jobs
  • Answers new customer inquiries
  • Addresses requests for information from dealers, consultants, engineers, electricians, representatives and end users in a timely and professional manner.
  • Confirms system requirements.
  • Answers internal factory inquiries
  • Answers calls from Tech services about pricing on customer replacement parts
  • Answers questions from Project Manager regarding quotations
  • Completes additional tasks as assigned

Skills and Qualifications required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theatre with an emphasis on Technology or equivalent business experience in increasingly responsible positions
  • One to three years’ previous job-related experience in theatrical or television lighting
  • Working knowledge of theatrical lighting
  • Able to work quickly and accurately
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work flexible hours
