Dear Members,

We hope you that you and your families are keeping safe and well. Do remember that the ABTT is currently continuing as normal and stands ready to offer any support it can so please do keep in contact via email: office@abtt.org.uk

We have been collating resources on the ABTT Website that may help our members' during this tough time. Please see some more details below. We are also constantly updating the ABTT News Page to help you stay updated on current COVID-19 guidance for the Industry.

The ABTT Team and Trustees wanted to ensure that during the current situations, we continue to recognise and celebrate those contributing to our industry so please do find some more information below regarding the upcoming ABTT People Awards which will be taking place online on the 10th June 2020.

In light of the postponement of the 42nd ABTT Theatre Show
until 2021, the ABTT Trustees also felt that it was necessary to mark the occasion, and provide our usual attendees with something to commemorate this event during the current pandemic.   Please find more information below.

Kind regards,
The ABTT Team
SAVE THESE DATES!
We cannot recreate or replace the experience of the ABTT Theatre Show, but in order to enable at least some of the conversations and discussions that take place when theatre people come together, we would like to invite you to a programme of online sessions running over Wednesday 10th - Thursday 11th June 2020.

The seminars will cover a variety of topics so keep your eyes peeled as details will be released shortly!

Our Seminars will be posted on the ABTT Events Page here as soon as details are released.

The ABTT Awards are one of the Association’s flagship events and we are very pleased to be able to take the opportunity to acknowledge those people making a difference to our Industry!

Although the ABTT Theatre Show has been postponed and we can't run our annual Product Awards, we have decided that at such a trying time, now more than ever we need to take the opportunity to celebrate those amazing people in our industry.

As such the ABTT will be running our brand new ABTT Award for Emerging Excellence alongside our established ABTT Technician of the Year Award, recognising the achievements of individuals both starting out and well-established in their backstage careers.

We are still taking nominations for the ABTT Technician of the Year Award, which are due before 1st June 2020.

For more information on how to nominate someone, please see here!

Both of these awards are scheduled to be announced on the 10th June 2020 which is when the original ABTT Awards were due to take place at the Annual ABTT Theatre Show.

This year due to the pandemic, the announcements will be made online via social media and the ABTT News page. We plan to present the Awards in person at the ABTT Christmas Party at the end of the year!

The ABTT is continuing to work hard to make sure that our sector is being supported during these unprecedented times.

As a registered charity, we are dependent on our membership subscriptions and donations as we do not receive any government subsidy, or regular financial help from local authorities or the Arts Council. If you are able, please pay any outstanding membership subscriptions. If it is possible and you would like to make a donation to support the ABTT in surviving in these incredibly challenging times, we would be extraordinarily grateful.

Any donations will help us in continuing to set and uphold standards in technical excellence, safety and compliance for live performance; to assist technicians and support relevant industry projects.
