We are recruiting a Deputy Technical Manager at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 hours per week (Tuesday – Saturday)
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term Until 30/09/2027
Location: Blackwood Miners’ Institute
Team: Regeneration Services

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Deputy Technical Manager to support the delivery of high quality technical services at Blackwood Miners’ Institute. Working alongside the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the theatre, supporting performances, events, and hires across staging, lighting, sound, and AV.
You will liaise with visiting companies, supervise freelance staff, and help ensure all activity meets professional standards and health and safety requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant venue, delivering a diverse programme of performances and events
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A relevant Level 3 Qualification
- A City and Guilds Assured Programme in the application of BS7909 Temporary electrical systems for entertainment and related purposes or a willingness to achieve this in an agreed timescale
- Good knowledge of operational aspects of theatrical staging, lighting, sound, digital and AV equipment.
