The Royal Opera House aims to enrich people`s lives through opera and ballet. Our Technical and Production Department plays a leading part in ensuring our performances are of the highest quality by delivering technical excellence for every performance, rehearsal and event.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Technician and two Technicians to join our Flys team.

While experience in flys is essential, full training will be given in ROH automated systems in the expectation of developing the skills and experience of successful candidates. The role involves working closely with colleagues to ensure operational and production requirements of rehearsals and performances are carried out to the highest possible standard of safety, efficiency and quality.

You will ideally have:

– An excellent track record in technical theatre, preferably including the staging of opera and ballet.
– A trained and safe flys operator, ideally with some experience of automated systems (knowledge of Tait systems desirable),
– An understanding of production needs for flys operations in a repertory house.
– An appreciation of both technical and aesthetic aspects of performance, with an understanding of the broader technical needs of other departments.
– Good understanding of AutoCAD is desirable.
– A commitment to learning and improvement.
