Job description

Little Angel Theatre (LAT) is looking to hire a technician on a six month fixed-term contract to join our technical department. You will be working under the supervision of LAT’s Production Manager as well as working alongside and supporting our Technical Manager to ensure the smooth running of the technical department.

This role would suit someone technically skilled with an ability to work well under pressure. As well as providing technical support to our wide-ranging programme of shows, you will also work as a duty-technician and be responsible for decision making when the sole member of technical staff on site.

Supporting technical aspects of productions
· To carry out work associated with get ins, fit ups, running, striking and get outs of
productions and events
· Set up and operate lighting, sound and AV equipment for productions and events
· To learn each in-house show’s stage management role and to cover if the stage manager cannot run the show themselves.
· Provide technical support to theatre, studio, touring shows, visiting companies, events and creative learning
· Assist during production weeks to ensure rehearsals and production process run smoothly
· Assist in the transport and storage of sets, puppets etc.
· Assist with any necessary adjustments or repairs during show days.
· Work on site as a duty technician

Buildings and Maintenance
· Provide first line maintenance support for all technical equipment, machines, sets, props, puppets etc.
· Ensure all equipment is used and stored safely
· To undertake maintenance across the building as required
· Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are kept to by all staff, casual staff and visiting
companies and that housekeeping is of a high standard
· Conduct routine equipment maintenance and repairs
· Any other ad hoc duties requested by the company
