Supporting Inclusive Research in the Creative Industries
25 June 2025
Liz Turnbull a PhD researcher at the University of York. Is looking to explore how individuals with impairments experience and navigate working in the UK’s creative industries — with a focus on the barriers created by the industry itself, not the individual.
They are on the lookout for individuals to share their career journeys in online interviews for the PhD research. Whether you’re a designer, producer, writer, or work in any creative field, your story deserves to be heard. Let’s inspire others together!
Criteria
They are currently inviting participants who are:
• 18 or older,
• based in the UK,
• have any kind of impairment that impacts daily life, and
• have worked (or tried to work) in the creative industries.
What does it involve
Participation involves a short summary of their career/education (CV-style) and a confidential, anonymised interview. The project has full ethical approval from the University of York.
