The Performing Arts Retirement Research Survey
20 February 2026
Denville Hall, the retirement and respite care home for all in the entertainment industry, including all theatre technicians and production support roles. Have launched an industry-wide survey of individuals in every area of the performing arts business.
They are looking at the package of retirement and pensions and the provisions we make (or do not make) for ourselves in old age.
The aim is to use the information gathered to raise awareness and funds for all members of the community, whether just starting out on their journey, seasoned professionals and also those already in the retirement category.
The survey is completely anonymous. Once the data from your survey has been processed, your individual response will be destroyed.
The information from the survey will be used by care providers (like Denville Hall), be offered to our unions, such as Equity, BECTU and the MU, and be used in discussion with government and national institutions to better meet the needs of the industry; these needs are acute in the present for those colleagues who are already retired and will become more so in the future : this survey is important and includes all of us so please – please – take a moment to complete it.
There are 40 questions and it should take you no more than 10 minutes. If you do not know or do not want to answer a question, just leave it blank but the more information everyone can give us, the stronger our response and our position will be.
The results of the survey will be published online in April 2026.
