APPG for Theatre – Call for Evidence on Skills Gaps – Deadline 20th May 5pm

18 May 2022

The theatre industry is facing a major backstage and offstage skills shortage which has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The APPG for Theatre is looking at the impact of the ongoing problems on the industry through this call for evidence and a Parliamentary session on 20th May. The evidence collected as part of this work will inform a report which will be shared with Parliamentarians, Ministers, and policy makers across the UK.

The APPG for Theatre is keen to hear from people involved at every level of the industry – from venues to producers to drama schools, backstage staff, hiring managers and beyond.

  2. To identify and debate potential opportunities and issues for theatre in the UK; and
  3. To support parliamentarians’ understanding of the theatre and performing arts industry at a national and local level.
