Call to Action: Arts Pay 2025 Survey

9 July 2025

Arts Professional, in collaboration with Baker Richards, is currently running the third edition of its comprehensive Arts Pay survey.

They are very keen to get as many responses as possible to truly reflect remuneration across the sector.

With little over a week left for the survey to run, they have found two areas are  unrepresented in the responses they have received, namely individuals working in technical areas and freelancers.

This is important independent research for the sector with the following aims:

• To help build a clearer understanding of the realities facing arts workers and inform advocacy for positive change.
• For workers to compare their own salary and benefits with others in similar roles, see if experiences are shared by others, and access evidence that could be used in workplace discussions.
• For freelancers to be able to see the fees being charged for different roles, helping them to set their own fees in pitches for work.
• For employers to better understand expectations around pay and provide clarity on working practices and terms which are rising in prominence.
• For policymakers it will provide a benchmark for assessing remuneration within and between sectors, as well as highlighting pay discrimination.

Findings from the survey will be reported back later in the summer and shared with all participants through a dedicated results dashboard.

Those taking part can choose to enter to win £250 (first prize) or one of 5 annual Arts Professional individual subscriptions.

If you would like to take part  please complete the survey here, before the 18th July.
