Call to Action: Supporting the Future Spectrum Needs of the PMSE Sector
3 March 2026
The ABTT is supporting a sector-wide call to action from BEIRG (the British Entertainment Industry Radio Group) in response to Ofcom’s current Call for Input on the future spectrum needs of the PMSE sector.
Ofcom’s annual Plan of Work includes a review of the future use of UHF spectrum (470–694 MHz), including PMSE’s access to it. Decisions arising from this review may have significant implications for theatre, live performance, broadcast and events.
The PMSE sector relies on access to spectrum every day. As future changes to digital terrestrial television (DTT) are considered, continued access to UHF spectrum remains under scrutiny.
This Call for Input provides a vital opportunity to ensure the scale, diversity and importance of our sector is clearly understood.
