Candlelit Conference – Stockholm 4-6 September 2020

Although details of costs, accompanying workshop programme and recommended accommodation are still being finalised, this very exciting conference - focused on the lighting of historical performance spaces, scenery and texts/operas is offered as the subject and context for an OISTAT Research Commission meeting 4-6 September with accompanying workshop programme from 30 August - 3 Sept.
Candlelight is being used and researched for both historic and modern productions elsewhere in the world, most notably in Europe at Cesky Krumlov and in the Sam Wanamaker theatre, London. However, the combination in Stockholm of the original Drottningholm, Gripsholm Castle and reconstructed Confidensen 18thC theatres and their work with real and simulated candlelight create the perfect opportunity for sharing research and considering the implications and effects of different and sustainably sourced contemporary lighting methods.
There will be opportunities to give papers and presentations (please see the attached CFP) in both the conference and designated OISTAT sessions, as well as time for a Commission business meeting.
