Modular design (ie, reusable parts which can be dismantled and reused on multiple productions) is key to a theatre’s ability to reduce purchasing new materials, and waste.
Join the Collectif 17H25 for a deep dive into the newly-released modular design framework, MOD200. The Collectif 17H25 is made up of five large opera/theatre houses in France and Belgium: the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Opéra National de Paris, the Opéra National de Lyon, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels. For the past five years the Collectif have been collaboratively developing and testing a structural model and would now like to share their learnings, guidance, and specifications more widely. Whilst MOD200 has been made by opera houses, it is relevant for work in theatres, festivals, live music, etc, so please do come along if you are interested in the technical aspects of modular structures.
