Join ABTT NorthNet on Tuesday 29th September for a unique behind-the-scenes industry visit taking us from the historic world of Shakespeare North Playhouse to the cutting-edge facilities of Adlib HQ.

Our day will begin at Shakespeare North Playhouse, where we’ll take an exclusive tour of this remarkable venue and discover what goes on behind the scenes to deliver productions safely and effectively.

The visit will include a fascinating insight into the practicalities of working safely with live candles in a theatrical environment, alongside an opportunity to explore the venue’s modern technical infrastructure and technology. It’s a chance to see first-hand how traditional theatrical practices and contemporary production technology come together within one of the UK’s most distinctive performance spaces.

Following the theatre tour, we’ll enjoy lunch at Shakespeare North Playhouse, kindly sponsored by Adlib.

We’ll then head over to Adlib HQ, where the team will welcome us for a tour of their facilities and an insight into their work on the recent upgrade works at Shakespeare North Playhouse. We’ll hear more about the technical challenges, solutions and expertise involved in delivering the project, as well as getting a closer look at Adlib’s operations and facilities.

The afternoon will also provide plenty of opportunity to network with fellow ABTT members and industry colleagues, before finishing with an open Q&A session with the Adlib team.

Whether you work in theatre, production, technical services, education or venue management, this promises to be a great opportunity to learn, share experiences and get behind the scenes of two fantastic organisations.
