ISCVE Launches Professional Registration & New CPD Portal

27 May 2026

ISCVE is proud to announce two major developments supporting professional recognition and career progression across the sound, communications and audiovisual sectors.

Following its acceptance as a Professional Affiliate of the Engineering Council, ISCVE has launched a new Professional Registration pathway alongside a dedicated CPD portal powered by MyCareerPath.

Together, these initiatives reinforce ISCVE’s role as a professional home for engineers and technicians working across sound and AV.

Professional Registration

Through ISCVE’s partnership with the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers, eligible members can work towards internationally recognised engineering titles:

· Chartered Engineer (CEng)

· Incorporated Engineer (IEng)

· Engineering Technician (EngTech)

The scheme provides a structured route for members to demonstrate professional competence, technical knowledge and commitment to industry standards.

Eligible ISCVE members working in sound, communications and audiovisual engineering roles may be able to apply, depending on their qualifications, experience and level of responsibility.

Professional Registration is not just aimed at senior engineers. EngTech and IEng also provide valuable recognition for developing professionals and those progressing through technical and engineering careers within the AV and sound sectors.

Committee, comments:

“This new scheme represents a transformative opportunity for professionals in the sound and AV sectors. By offering internationally recognised engineering credentials, we are elevating the status of our industry and providing our members with a clear pathway to professional excellence.”

New CPD Portal – MyCareerPath

Alongside the new registration pathway, ISCVE has also introduced a dedicated Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portal using MyCareerPath — the Engineering Council’s secure online CPD platform.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an essential part of maintaining professional competence and supporting ongoing career progression throughout the industry.

The portal allows members to:

· Record and manage CPD activity

· Plan future professional development

· Maintain an auditable CPD record

· Support Professional Registration applications and renewals

The new CPD portal also supports structured career development, helping members maintain a clear record of ongoing learning, skills and professional competence in line with Engineering Council expectations.

Phil Price adds:

“CPD is essential for maintaining competence and staying ahead in a rapidly evolving industry. Our new portal makes it easier than ever for members to demonstrate their commitment to professional development and meet the requirements for Engineering Council registration.”
