Head of Costume and Wigs

Committed to producing high quality work that informs, excites and entertains, Opera North is looking for an experienced and well-motivated individual to fill the role of Head of Costume and Wigs.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in large scale costume design, production, and management. You will have excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise under pressure.

Purpose of the role:

To lead the Costume Production, Hair and Make-up, and Running Wardrobe teams to deliver costumes and related designs that meet the artistic vision of Opera North’s productions as well as maintaining Opera North’s costume back-catalogue, store, and equipment. This role ensures artistic goals are achieved while managing budgets, schedules, and teams, maintaining the highest quality and professional standards.

Salary: £42,000 – £50,000 per annum
