Job Description

Hampstead Theatre is seeking an experienced Head of Stage to lead all stage and flying operations across its programme of productions and events on the Main Stage and Studio.
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Head of Stage is responsible for the planning and delivery of all stage activity, leading permanent and freelance stage staff, and ensuring the safe, compliant operation and maintenance of all stage and flying systems. The role works closely with Production Managers, designers and creative teams throughout rehearsals, fit‑ups, performances and get‑outs, providing practical expertise and solutions to support ambitious, technically demanding work.

This is a senior, hands‑on role requiring extensive experience of professional theatre stage practice, scenic construction, rigging and flying systems, strong Health & Safety knowledge and proven leadership of stage crews within a producing theatre environment.
