Job Description
A contemporary, anarchic and pop and rock infused take on this classic is written by Olivier Award-Winning Vikki Stone and directed by our Chief Executive/ Artistic Director, Douglas Rintoul.
The NWT pantomime is a much-loved record breaking pantomime that is a significant part of the cultural identity of the town. Our 2024 pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, and our 2025 pantomime, Beauty and the Beast, have been nominated in various categories at the UK Pantomime Awards. The New Wolsey Theatre was nominated for the UK Theatre most welcoming theatre of the year award and we won a UK Pantomime Award Best Digital Panto for the live stream of our pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.
Rehearsals will take place in central Ipswich, Suffolk, and performances are at the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich.
The New Wolsey Theatre utilises the Theatre Green Book on all of it’s productions, with a commitment to making theatre more environmentally sustainable.
Dates:
Design meetings – to be negotiated in May, June and July 2026
Rehearsals: Monday 26th October 2026 to Saturday 14th November 2026
Build week: Monday 9th November to Saturday 14th November 2026
Tech Week: Monday 16th November 2026 to Friday 20th November 2026
First performance: Friday 20th November 2026
Previews: Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Monday 23rd November 2026
Opening/Press Night: Tuesday 24th November 2026
About You
- Experience of working on a mid-scale or larger show is essential.
- We actively welcome applications from Production Managers based in or from East Anglia but we will consider applications from all Production Managers regardless of where they live or where they are from.
