The National Centre for Circus Arts is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Technical Manager to lead its technical operations at one of Europe’s leading circus training institutions. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and innovative use of equipment, facilities, and technical teams across a busy, multi-use building in East London.

You will oversee six purpose-built studio spaces used for circus training, performance, and hires, as well as the maintenance of rigging, lighting, sound, and AV systems. The role includes strategic planning, budget management, and responsibility for technical health and safety, including compliance with LOLER and PUWER regulations. You’ll act as a key point of contact for productions, capital projects, and external contractors.

As a line manager to the Technical Manager and lead for freelance technical teams, you’ll support a wide range of creative and educational activity, from student showcases to professional productions and corporate events. You will collaborate closely with senior leaders and other departments to ensure high standards of safety, delivery, and professionalism, while fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
