Job Description

Location: Flexible (UK/Europe preferred) International Travel Required

Harlequin is the global leader in performance flooring for dance, theatre, events, television and entertainment venues. We are seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead technical support, product development and innovation across our international business.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, you will provide technical leadership across our flooring and staging product ranges, supporting sales teams, major projects, product development and quality management.

You will work closely with customers, sales teams, project managers, suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure Harlequin continues to deliver world-class flooring solutions.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide technical support to sales and project teams from enquiry through installation.

· Develop technical solutions, specifications and drawings for projects.

· Support pricing, quotations and cost optimisation.

· Assist with site inspections, testing and installation challenges.

· Lead technical input for bespoke and complex projects.

· Drive product development across vinyl flooring, sprung floors and staging systems.

· Manage product testing, compliance and certification.

· Support supplier selection, sourcing and quality improvement.

· Investigate technical issues and customer claims.

· Maintain technical documentation, installation guides and product data.

About You

· 8+ years’ experience in a technical leadership role.

· Strong knowledge of commercial flooring, PVC flooring systems or structural timber products.

· Experience with CAD drawings and technical specifications.

· Commercially aware with experience supporting project quotations and delivery.

· Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

· Comfortable travelling internationally when required.

· Fluent English.

· Experience using CRM and ERP systems.

Desirable

· Experience in theatre, entertainment or specialist flooring sectors.

· Knowledge of acoustics, structural flooring systems or stage construction.

· Understanding of sustainability and environmental standards.
