Job Description

Junction Goole is looking for a Technical & Events professional responsible for the safe, efficient, and creative technical operation of the venue and events held off-site.

This is a hybrid role suitable for a skilled technician seeking to step into management, or an experienced Technical/Events Manager happy to be hands-on in a small, busy venue. The post requires flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative approach, working closely with the Venue Manager, visiting companies, and community groups to ensure all events are delivered to a professional standard.

This is a hands-on role, supporting productions, events, and hires, while also overseeing the maintenance of technical equipment and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The post-holder will play a key role in delivering high-quality experiences for artists, audiences, and community users. As well as delivering the technical operation of the venue (including live events and cinema) the postholder will also take on Event Management responsibilities for events and festivals held off-site (such as Bonfire & Fireworks Display, Christmas Lights and performances in parks/gardens).

This role will suit someone who is:

A confident technician ready to take the next step into management, or an experienced manager who enjoys staying hands-on

As comfortable rigging, programming and operating as they are planning, coordinating and leading delivery

A practical problem-solver who can stay calm under pressure and find solutions in a live environment

Ready to take pride in delivering high-quality work, whether supporting a touring company, a community group or a large-scale outdoor event

A strong organiser able to manage multiple projects, timelines and priorities across both venue-based and off-site events

Equipped with a solid understanding of health and safety and who takes responsibility for safe working practices and compliance

A collaborative team player ready to build positive working relationships with colleagues, freelancers, visiting artists and partners

Someone who is proactive and takes ownership – spotting issues, improving systems and keeping things moving without needing close supervision

A flexible individual who understands the realities of the sector, including evening and weekend work

Passionate about the role that arts and events play in communities and wants to be part of delivering work that is accessible, welcoming and well-run

Experience working in the arts, culture or a related sector is essential.
