Technician at Battersea Arts Centre
Application closing date: 16 Aug 2026 10:00pm
Based: London
Salary: £30,340
Position: Technician
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Job Description
This role will be part of BAC’s Production & Technical Team. It may be expected to contribute to a range of workstreams, but the role will primarily lead on all our P&T work as set out below.
General Description
As a Technician, you will be part of BAC’s Production & Technical team, supporting the delivery of artistic programming, commercial hires and events across the venue. Working across one or more technical disciplines, including Lighting, Sound, Stage and Audio Visual, you will contribute to the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of productions and events.
BAC’s Production & Technical team provides professional and supportive technical services to artists, visiting companies and community groups throughout the rehearsal, development and performance stages of their work, at BAC and on tour. The team also delivers a wide range of commercial events, including conferences, weddings, filming and large-scale corporate events, ensuring the highest standards of technical delivery and customer service.
BAC is a fast-paced, multi-use venue, with activity taking place across a range of performance and event spaces. The role includes practical technical work, manual handling, and regular evening and weekend working. As a member of the team at the world’s first Relaxed Venue, you will help create welcoming, accessible and inclusive experiences for all who use the building.
The culture at BAC is a collaborative and open one. We work in an open plan space with no closed private offices and frequently work across teams and roles. We are lucky to have an outdoor terrace adjoined to the office which is particularly nice in the summer months. There’s a good culture of people taking lunch breaks away from desks and two equipped kitchen and eating areas where the team tend to spend their down time. We organise regular social events and things can get competitive at our annual sports day and Christmas quiz. Though to be clear, spectating is respected as much as taking part here at BAC!
