The ABTT Virtual Ideas Platform (VIP), developed by the Association of British Theatre Technicians in partnership with the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and recently joined by RCS, exists to support and showcase the creative ingenuity of those working behind the scenes in theatre and live events.

Since 2021, the ABTT VIP Award platform has been championing boundary-pushing ideas with the potential to shape the future of the industry, giving the spotlight and support to boundary-pushing innovations that challenge how theatre is made, experienced, and sustained. whether technical, conceptual or practical, if your idea could positively impact the future of theatre production, we want to hear from you.

The platform is open to all who study or work in theatre and live events industries. Submissions are welcomed from anyone with an idea and the ambition to develop it, regardless of background, age or career stage.
