ABTT Cymru Committee Chair: Rhian Jones

Current position – Head of Production, Royal Welsh College of Music, and Drama (RWCMD)

Rhian trained at Goldsmiths College, University of London obtaining a BA Hons in Drama and Theatre Arts. During this time, she specialised in physical and devised theatre and her work in this area led her to be involved in productions throughout the UK and Europe. Rhian then went on to work as a freelancer, undertaking roles in many areas of Production Arts in institutions such as the National Theatre, The Young Vic, West End, UK, and international touring venues.

In 2011 Rhian became Production Manager at Guildhall School in London, and programme leader for the MA in collaborative theatre, production, and design in 2017. During this time, she obtained her postgraduate certificate in Higher Education. In addition to her teaching at Guildhall she has been intrinsic in creating and delivering content for the Production Management module of PASE (Production Arts skills exchange) in Shanghai and Beijing. In 2019 Rhian was a speaker at the China-UK seminar on Performance Production Management in Beijing.

Since January 2022 Rhian Jones has held the position of Head of Production at the Royal Welsh college of Music & Drama.

The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) is the National Conservatoire of Wales providing pioneering performance-based training to over 800 of the most talented actors, musicians, production arts practitioners, scenic designers, and arts managers from more than 40 countries.  It is also one of Cardiff's most popular arts venues hosting over 500 public performances each year.
