Our electromagnetic (EN81 approved) dual circuit fail-safe ROBA-stop-Z brake, and electromagnetic ROBA-diskstop calliper brake were developed to meet the needs of the safety critical elevator and escalator industries. The quiet operation and safety characteristics of these brakes made them ideal for stage and theatre handling equipment and winches and as such they were granted BGV C1 approval. Mayr’s program of continuous product development resulted in the ROBA-stop-silenzio, the quietest brake available on the world market. With a switching noise of <50 dßA (even after 500,000 switchings), ROBA-stop-silenzio has become the industry standard for quality and safety conscious stage and theatre design engineers.
Alongside Mayr’s range of standard brakes, industry specific solutions have also been developed for the theatre industry including the RSA high torque housed servo brake module, which can be easily installed between a servo motor and gearbox.
