Second Stage is a charity that creates a working partnership between the criminal justice system and the creative industries. We believe everyone deserves a second chance – and that working backstage in theatre and live events has the power to transform lives. Through introductory courses, hands-on experience and personalised mentoring, we support people with lived experience of the criminal justice system to build sustainable careers backstage and beyond. From lighting and carpentry to costume and crewing, our work connects talented, motivated individuals with theatres and employers, ready to champion inclusion and fair chance hiring.
