AutoCAD Online Training for Theatre Technicians and Designers (tutor lead)
AutoCAD is used widely in the industry to develop technical drawings for a range of different uses from small scale productions to events such as the Olympics. This course explores AutoCAD’s 2D functionality to aid you creating the drawings required to mount a production and also features an introduction to 3D work.
The course is aligned to the Autodesk Certified User (AutoCAD) Examination. Although the course is aimed at Windows versions, Mac versions of AutoCAD are accommodated, as far as possible, and differences are noted in the course work.
How is the course structured?
The course consists of 6 parts, based around the plan of a studio theatre, which is developed over the course of the programme.
After Part 1 you will be able to create very simple drawings, but as the course continues further skills and tools are added which allow you to create more sophisticated drawing, extract information and create 3D rendered models and animation.
